  • 1 pound tilapia fillets, skin on or off

Instructions

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the oil is shimmering, add the tilapia fillets to the skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.
  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Flip the fillets and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Add minced garlic and paprika to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat and squeeze lemon juice over the fillets.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh tilapia.
  • To easily remove the fish from the skillet, use a fish spatula.
  • Store leftover tilapia in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Baking is an alternative method. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
