Ingredients
- 1 pound tilapia fillets, skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is shimmering, add the tilapia fillets to the skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
- Flip the fillets and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Add minced garlic and paprika to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and squeeze lemon juice over the fillets.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh tilapia.
- To easily remove the fish from the skillet, use a fish spatula.
- Store leftover tilapia in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Baking is an alternative method. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
