Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, simmer for a longer period, increasing the time by 2-3 minutes.
- To adjust sweetness, add more brown sugar to taste.
- This sauce is best used immediately, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
