Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 Onion, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 packet Taco Seasoning
- 1/2 cup Water
- 12 Corn Tortillas
- 1/2 cup Shredded Lettuce
- 1/2 cup Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 cup Crumbled Cotija Cheese
- 1/4 cup Salsa (your favorite)
- Lime Wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
- Drain off any excess grease.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Warm corn tortillas according to package directions (microwave, dry skillet, or warm water).
- Assemble tacos: Fill each warm tortilla with seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, crumbled cotija cheese, and a spoonful of salsa.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges for squeezing.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of chili powder to the taco seasoning.
- You can substitute the ground beef with shredded chicken or pork.
- Keep tortillas warm in a tortilla warmer or wrapped in a clean kitchen towel.
- To prevent soggy tacos, don't add the salsa until just before serving.
- Serve with your favorite toppings like sour cream or guacamole.
