Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups (440g) bread flour
- 1 teaspoon (5g) instant dry yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (9g) salt
- 1 1/2 cups (360ml) warm water (105-115°F / 40-46°C)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil, plus more for drizzling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and yeast.
- Add the salt and warm water. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough gently.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Divide dough in half (for 2 medium pizzas) or keep as one large piece.
- Shape into a circle or desired pizza shape.
- Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Bake at 450°F (232°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone. Preheat the stone for at least 30 minutes before baking.
- If your dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.
- You can store leftover dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Bring to room temperature before using.
- Using a lightly oiled spatula will make transferring the pizza to a hot pizza stone much easier.
