Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and yeast.
  2. Add the salt and warm water. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough gently.
  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
  6. Divide dough in half (for 2 medium pizzas) or keep as one large piece.
  7. Shape into a circle or desired pizza shape.
  8. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  9. Bake at 450°F (232°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone. Preheat the stone for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • If your dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • You can store leftover dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Bring to room temperature before using.
  • Using a lightly oiled spatula will make transferring the pizza to a hot pizza stone much easier.
