Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large casserole dish, combine green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk.
- Season with black pepper.
- Pour into casserole dish.
- Top with 2/3 cup French fried onions.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until heated through and onions are golden brown.
- Top with remaining 1/3 cup French fried onions during the last 5 minutes of baking.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh green beans.
- If using frozen green beans, thaw completely and drain well.
- To prevent the casserole from drying out, cover loosely with foil during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To add extra flavor, consider sauteing 1/2 cup of chopped onion or garlic before adding it to the casserole.
