Instructions
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each slice of bread into the batter, ensuring both sides are coated.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve immediately with maple syrup.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
- Use a non-stick griddle or skillet to prevent sticking.
