Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges are set.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For fluffier pancakes, sift the dry ingredients together before adding the wet ingredients.
- Don't overmix the batter; a few lumps are okay.
- To prevent sticking, grease the griddle with butter or cooking spray.
- Keep cooked pancakes warm in a 200°F (93°C) oven while you finish cooking the rest.
- Store leftover pancakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
