Ingredients
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream, black pepper, and garlic powder. Heat over medium heat until simmering.
- Pour the warm cream over the cubed cheddar cheese. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and smooth.
- Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet.
- Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the baguette slices are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the warm baguette slices with the melted cheese mixture.
Notes
- For a smoother cheese sauce, whisk occasionally while heating.
- If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic to the cheese sauce.
- Store leftover cheese sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Use a serrated knife to slice the baguette for best results.
