Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in cinnamon (if using) during the last minute of cooking.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to puree the sauce after it has cooled slightly.
- To prevent the sauce from setting too firmly, don't overcook it.
- Store leftover cranberry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- This sauce is delicious served warm with roasted turkey or pork.
