Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in cinnamon, if using.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to puree it before cooling.
- This cranberry sauce is best made a day in advance to allow the flavors to meld.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- To prevent crystallization, stir in a small amount of orange juice (about 1 tablespoon) before cooling.
