Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cut potatoes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- Spread the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding – you may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes to ensure even cooking. The fries are done when golden brown and crispy.
- Season with sea salt (if desired) immediately after removing from the air fryer.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, parboil the potatoes for 5 minutes before air frying. Drain well and pat dry before tossing with oil and seasonings.
- A wire rack placed in the air fryer basket will help the fries cook more evenly.
- Don't overcrowd the basket, as this will steam the fries instead of crisping them.
- Store leftover fries in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Reheat in a warm oven for best results.
