Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter.
- Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron. Close the lid and cook until golden brown, usually 3-5 minutes depending on your waffle iron.
- Remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For extra crispy waffles, use a slightly lower batter consistency – add a tablespoon more milk if needed.
- Don't press down on the waffle iron while it's cooking, as this can prevent even cooking.
- Store leftover waffles in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
