Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound cooked shrimp (for serving)
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in white wine and bring to a simmer.
- Add shrimp and Old Bay seasoning. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Arrange cooked shrimp on a platter. Serve with lemon wedges for squeezing.
Notes
- For best results, use large shrimp (21-25 count).
- Don't overcook the shrimp, as they will become rubbery.
- Chilling the shrimp before serving will make the cocktail even more refreshing.
- To keep shrimp fresh, store them in the refrigerator in a bowl of ice water. Drain well before cooking.
- Use a slotted spoon to drain excess liquid from the shrimp after cooking.
