Ingredients
- 2 cups tortilla chips
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 jalapeno, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in taco seasoning according to package directions.
- Spread tortilla chips in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
- Top chips with seasoned ground beef.
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and top with salsa, black olives, and green onions.
- Serve immediately with sour cream and jalapenos (if desired).
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the ground beef while cooking.
- You can use any type of cheese you prefer – Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or a Mexican blend are all great options.
- To prevent chips from getting soggy, bake them briefly before adding the toppings.
- Store leftover nachos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
