Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in orange zest (if using) during the last minute of simmering.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender after cooking.
- Storing: Store leftover cranberry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
