Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 medium onion, sliced thinly
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the chicken breasts with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until fully cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F).
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the toppings. Slice the onion thinly and shred the lettuce.
- Once the chicken is cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into 1/2 inch thick pieces.
- Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the hamburger buns.
- Place a slice of chicken on the bottom bun, followed by cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and sliced onion.
- Top with the other bun half.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chicken seasoning.
- To grill the chicken, preheat your grill to medium heat and cook for 6-8 minutes per side.
- Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Use brioche buns for a sweeter flavor.
