Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20)
- 1/2 cup Shredded Blue Cheese
- 1/4 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 4 Hamburger Buns
- 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
- Lettuce Leaves
- Tomato Slices
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, blue cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burgers tough.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
- Cook the burgers for 5-7 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns.
Notes
- For a bolder flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the burger mixture.
- Serve on a brioche bun for extra richness.
- If you don't have blue cheese, gorgonzola or Roquefort cheese can be substituted.
- To prevent sticking, lightly grease the skillet with butter or oil before cooking.
- Store leftover burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
