Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Use your hands to thoroughly mix all ingredients until well combined. Do not overmix.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding.
- Cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Serve hot with your favorite sauce (marinara, spaghetti sauce, etc.) and pasta.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- To prevent meatballs from sticking together, roll them in flour before cooking.
- If baking, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Meatballs can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They also freeze well for up to 3 months.
